    Barbara Bigelow has been named as the interim administrator at Wrangell Medical Center after the departure of PeaceHealth’s original interim administrator Kendall Sawa, who announced on Oct. 10 his desire to make a move to Washington State. Bigelow, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., has lived in Alaska since 1979, and joined PeaceHealth in 1993. Beginning on Saturday, Oct. 27, Solvay Bakke will host the first ever “Howl-o-Ween” dog walk at the city nature trail. The event will begin at 2 p.m. The Salvation Army will hold their 3rd annual Pumpkin Party and Carnival at the Corps headquarters on Zimovia Highway on Tuesday, Oct. 30. For the ninth year in a row, the Wrangell Ministerial Association is looking to help feed families in need as they prepare for their annual Thanksgiving food basket drive.     Peter B. Iversen, Sr. of Anchorage, died on October 16, 2012 at the age of 62. He passed away while pursuing his lifelong passion of flying as a bush pilot in his home state. His plane went down near Skwentna, as he was heading to Nixon Fork Mine. Pete was born July 24, 1950 in Wrangell to Doris and Barney Iversen.     It was a great weekend for the Wrangell High School Lady Wolves volleyball teams as the junior varsity team beat Hoonah Varsity and Klawock JV, losing only to the Petersburg JV in two close games.     The Wrangell Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has a new alignment of members after their Oct. 15 round of voting to fill four vacant seats. Wrangellites Christie Jamieson, Kris Reed, Janell Privett, and Borough Manager Tim Rooney won their seats after all the votes were counted.
