The Wrangell Lady Wolves played a set of home games against the Metlakatla Miss Chiefs last week, Feb. 14 and 15. Both teams have been having strong performances this year. The last time the two teams met, after Rally the Regions in early January, Wrangell walked away defeated in two very close games. This time, however, both teams fought hard and managed one win each. The Wrangell Lady Wolves spent the beginning of 2020 in Anchorage, taking part in the Rally the Regions Hardwood Classic. The tournament, held on the first four days of January, brings together schools from across the state, from Southeast to western Alaska. The Lady Wolves, Wrangell’s high school girls’ basketball team, held their annual alumni dinner and game last Tuesday, Dec. 17. The game is a tradition where past and present basketball players come together to celebrate the opening of a new season.
