November 25, 1920 When Walter Woodbridge went south last Thursday he took with him some of the most beautiful specimens of decorative marble ever seen in Alaska or anywhere else. The specimens were taken from Mr. Woodbridge’s claims near Wrangell and were polished by him. The specimens seen by the reporter were not only surprisingly rich in coloring, but took on a polish as smooth as glass, no pores being discernible even when the specimens are held under a magnifying glass. The Wrangell Salvation Army passed out the Wrangell Ministerial Association's Thanksgiving baskets last Friday. Lt. Jon Tollerud, with the Salvation Army, said that they had 138 people sign up for baskets, but they were "not turning away anyone who asks." They had enough food to supply 400 Thanksgiving meals in all, he said, just in case. He also pointed out their mitigation plan, having people drive up to Harbor Light Assembly of God while volunteers would put together the baskets for them....

The Wrangell Chamber of Commerce hosted a contest this past weekend, Harvest Fest, to promote local businesses. Shoppers were given the opportunity to get cards stamped at participating businesses, and having those cards entered into a raffle for a $500 prize. November 11, 1920 One of the matters which claimed the attention of the Town Council at its meeting Thursday night was the matter of the use of tobacco by children. The town marshal was directed to notify every tobacco dealer in Wrangell not to sell tobacco in any form to any child under 17 years of age. The Southeast Alaska Health Consortium hosted a flu shot clinic last Saturday afternoon outside of Evergreen Elementary school. People were invited to walk or drive up and receive a free flu shot. While the flu can be caught year-round in the United States, according to the CDC, it becomes more prevalent in the fall and winter. Mr. Larson’s invention comprises an improvement in water cooled pistons with a supply of cooling water. October 14, 1920 Advertising in the Sentinel pays. For instance, Ed Grigwire this week received an order from U. G. Parks of Newark, Ohio, for a Wisconsin motor to be delivered to him at Wrangell next Spring. Mr. Parks stated in his letter to Mr. Grigwire that he saw his advertisement in the Sentinel. Mr. Parks is a retired tailor. Two years ago he spent the summer in Wrangell putting in most of his time with Charles Borch on Snake Creek. October 7, 1920 Articles of incorporation have been filed in the office of the secretary of Alaska for the Wrangell Mining, Pulp & Power company. The company is incorporated for $1,000,000 and is divided into 10,000 shares for $100 a share. The articles state that the company will carry on the industries of mining, pulp milling and leasing of water power for the generating and transmitting electric power, in the vicinity of the town of Wrangell.
