    The Lady Wolves travelled to Craig High School this past weekend for another round of games against the Lady Panthers. Wrangell claimed two exciting wins over Craig two weeks ago, on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. This time around, however, the Lady Panthers put up a tough fight. Both teams walked away with one win each.     Wrangell and Petersburg faced off in a set of AAU basketball games last Saturday, Feb. 8. Both teams played hard, but Wrangell was able to walk away with two wins.     The Wrangell Lady Wolves and Craig Lady Panthers faced off this past weekend in a set of home games at Wrangell High School. The games were intense, with both teams clearly giving it their best efforts. Fortunately for Wrangell, the Lady Wolves managed to continue their recent winning streak.     The Wrangell Wolves continue to go undefeated against the Craig Panthers this year, after their most recent games this past week. It has been a difficult season for the Wolves, who have faced tough opponents and several hard-fought losses. Their only previous win, this season, was also against Craig High School during the Clarke Cochrane Tournament back in December.     The Wrangell Wolves faced two losses to the Haines Glacier Bears last weekend, Jan. 24 and 25. According to Jenn Miller-Yancey, who accompanied the team on their trip to Haines, travel was a bit of a hassle this weekend due to bad weather.     Wrangell and Petersburg faced each other on the wrestling mat last weekend, for a middle school wrestling tournament. Wrangell walked away with 67 wins, 47 losses, and 53 pins, Carney wrote on the Wolves Wrestling Facebook page, as well as seven individual round robin champions.     The Wrangell Lady Wolves walked away from last week’s games in Haines, against the Glacier Bears, with two big wins. Transportation to Haines proved to be a hassle, according to Jenn Miller-Yancey, who accompanied the team, but this clearly did not throw the team off their game.     During the previous assembly meeting, on Jan. 14, the Wrangell Wolves wrestling team was recognized. Among several accomplishments this season, the Wolves claimed the 2A regional championship for the sixth time in their school's history, and also achieved the regional team sportsmanship award.     The Wrangell Lady Wolves spent the beginning of 2020 in Anchorage, taking part in the Rally the Regions Hardwood Classic. The tournament, held on the first four days of January, brings together schools from across the state, from Southeast to western Alaska.     The Wrangell Elks Lodge hosted its annual Hoop Shoot free throw contest last Saturday, Dec. 7. The contest is held by Elks lodges across the country, open to children from 8 to 13-years-old. Jeff Jabusch, director of the contest for Wrangell, says that participants get 25 shots at making a basket, plus a maximum of five practice throws.
