    The Lady Wolves made a good showing in their games against the Metlakatla Miss Chiefs this weekend, Jan. 10 and 11. While they did not come home with any wins this week, the games could easily be described as intense and were lost by only a narrow margin.     The Wrangell Lady Wolves spent the beginning of 2020 in Anchorage, taking part in the Rally the Regions Hardwood Classic. The tournament, held on the first four days of January, brings together schools from across the state, from Southeast to western Alaska.     The Wrangell Wolves had a rough beginning to their basketball season after two losses to the Petersburg Vikings this weekend.     The Wrangell Elks Lodge hosted its annual Hoop Shoot free throw contest last Saturday, Dec. 7. The contest is held by Elks lodges across the country, open to children from 8 to 13-years-old. Jeff Jabusch, director of the contest for Wrangell, says that participants get 25 shots at making a basket, plus a maximum of five practice throws.
