    Between hosting their first home games of the season, and running a takeout fundraiser dinner, Wrangell's high school volleyball team had a packed weekend.     The season is nearly at an end for Wrangell's high school swim team. They competed in the regional tournament in Petersburg last weekend. Coach Jamie Roberts explained that in regionals, swimmers could enter into only two individual events and two relay events. The swimmers achieved nine personal best times last weekend, she said.     The Wrangell Wolves wrestling team was the 2A champion of the Bill Weiss tournament in Ketchikan this past weekend. The team made 157 points over the weekend, with the second place 2A team being Petersburg, with 100 points. Wrangell took third place in the tournament, overall, but Assistant Coach Jack Carney said it was impressive that they were able to be the 2A champions with such a relatively young team.     The Wrangell Wolves wrestling team had eight of their wrestlers finish in top three positions at last weekend's tournament in Juneau. It was the first bracketed tournament of the season, according to Assistant Coach Jack Carney. Wrestlers were divided by their weight class and fought to advance in the brackets.     After last weekend’s tournament in Craig, the Wrangell High School volleyball team is in a three-way tie for second place for the season. Craig High School holds first place currently, with Wrangell competing with Petersburg and Klawock. During the tournament, Wrangell won games against teams from Haines, Metlakatla, Petersburg, and Skagway. They lost against teams from Craig and Klawock, however.     The Wrangell Wolves school wrestling team recently competed in their first tournament of the season at Petersburg High School Oct. 12 and 13.     Wrangell high school’s volleyball team played in Juneau against various 3A and 4A high schools last weekend. All the participating teams were divided into two brackets, gold and silver.     The Wrangell High School swim team competed in Ketchikan last weekend against six other high schools. Coach Jamie Roberts said that she was very proud of her team’s performance. Over the two-day competition, Roberts said that many members of her team achieved personal best times.     The Wrangell High School wrestling team has begun training for another season. The team’s first tournament will be in Petersburg on Oct. 12 and 13.     Liana Carney, Wrangell High School freshman and member of the cross country team, went to run in the state competition at Bartlett High School this past Saturday. Carney qualified for state in the regional competition at Juneau on Sept. 22. She came in fourth place at Regionals with a time of 25 minutes and 51 seconds in the race.     The Wrangell High School swim team was in Juneau this past weekend for an invitational tournament. Wrangell was one of seven schools represented at Juneau.     The Wrangell High School volleyball team travelled to Tok this weekend for their first tournament of the season. Coach Jessica Whitaker said that she decided to take her team beyond Southeast Alaska this year to play against teams they otherwise wouldn’t have as much contact with.     The Wrangell High School cross country team has had an eventful season. They have run against other Southeast Alaska schools in Sitka, Metlakatla, Petersburg, and Ketchikan.
