Wrangell’s high school wrestling team finished up its season at the state championships in Anchorage last weekend, securing 11th overall with 58.5 points. Forty-four Wrangell kids took part in this year’s Hoop Shoot, the Elks Lodge’s annual December basketball free-throw competition. Wrangell's youth swim team started its second competitive year at Petersburg's November Rain meet last weekend, hosted by the Viking Swim Club. The annual event was last year Wrangell Swim Club's very first to field in competition, and its participants have since taken part in several more around the state in the year since. Wrangell's junior swimmers competed in their fourth competitive meet last week, traveling to Ketchikan for the annual Spring Splash. Still in its first year, the Swim Club sent 17 swimmers to the three-day event, which took place over the April 1 weekend.
