Wrangell High School’s wrestling team took second place at the Bill Weiss Invitational Wrestling Tournament at Ketchikan High School last weekend – with sophomore Jeff Rooney, Jr. taking the No. 1 spot in the 182-pounder class as the 2012 season nears completion. Wrangell High School senior MiKayla Stokes wants her fellow students to get in shape and become healthier – via the school’s new swim club. It was a great weekend for the Wrangell High School Lady Wolves volleyball teams as the junior varsity team beat Hoonah Varsity and Klawock JV, losing only to the Petersburg JV in two close games. The Wrangell Wolves cross-country team excelled at the Region V tournament in Juneau on Saturday, Sept. 22, sending three runners to the state finals set for this weekend in Anchorage.
