A tasty ending
Students from Madison Blackburn’s kindergarten class gave a presentation to the school board March 16, explaining the tale of their gingerbread man. (From left) Owen Powell, Emilee Stewart, Bronn Allen and Callum Silva represented the class in telling the story. Blackburn (right) explained: “The class had read the gingerbread man story before winter break and then we made their own gingerbread man, but he ran away. The class searched but couldn’t find him. Soon we began receiving postcards and mail from people who had ‘seen’ our gingerbread man. He journeyed over 38 states and 12 different countries. One day, the students heard a knock on the door and they found a paper bag with our gingerbread man and cookies. They decided that we needed to decorate him and eat him so that he could not run away again.”
