Tight scores made for exciting golf at Muskeg Meadows Golf Course last weekend, with both the Bearfest Tournament, sponsored by Breakaway Adventures, and the Alaska Waters Tournament decided by less than a stroke.
The winning team in Saturday’s Bearfest tournament Aug. 8 was Derek Ross, Thor Johnson, Guy Kalklins and Daniel Harrison, with a net score of 30.1.
Tina Cummins won the prize for the most accurate drive on Saturday, at 8 feet, 11 inches. Brett Woodbury claimed closest to the hole, at 13 feet, 2 inches.
The winning team in Sunday’s Alaska Waters Tournament was Guy Kalklins, Drew Eyon, Derek Ross and Thor Johnson, with a net score of 29.4.
Kalklins won the prize for the most accurate drive on Sunday, on hole No. 10, at 26 inches. Frankie Gablehouse won for getting closest to the hole, at 16 feet, 6 inches, on No. 15.
This weekend’s tournament play starts Saturday with the George and Joey Woodbury Tournament, sponsored by BW Enterprises, followed by the KSTK Tournament, sponsored by AP&T, on Sunday.
Tournament season wraps up in mid-September, with three more tournament weekends planned after matches this Saturday and Sunday.
