Consider adding attending church to your activities

Posted

October is upon us and we are getting ready for shorter days, longer nights and cooler temperatures.

No matter what the time of year, we always have things to do, places to go and friends to visit. Winter is an enjoyable time, especially if you are looking forward to winter sports whether they be inside or outside. Snowmobiling for outside, volleyball and basketball for the indoor crowd.

No matter what your activity, you can enjoy doing the one of your choosing.

Going to movies and attending plays that our local people have rehearsed to perform are another very fun and interesting thing to do. We have a very great group of people who can entertain us.

Going to a movie and having young people working the concession stands and bringing the screen to light while operating the projectors brings joy to our faces, young and old.

Sitting in those same chairs we are also entertained by skilled people who have built sets and practiced lines to attain a great deal of expertise. All of these aforementioned activities are something that I have enjoyed over the years that I have lived in Wrangell.

There also is another activity that a lot of local residents enjoy. Each Sunday, all of the local churches open their doors to everyone and we gather together to thank our Creator for all of the things He has provided for us to enjoy. I would like all of you who are reading this — whether you are a regular churchgoer or an occasional churchgoer — to pick this Sunday and attend a service at one of our local churches.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you throughout the entire year and may you all enjoy a Sunday saying thank you.
