Firefighter training
The Wrangell Volunteer Fire Department held a training exercise Saturday, Nov. 29, with the controlled burn of the house at 414 Evergreen Ave. A section of the street was blocked for safety reasons for a few hours while emergency service vehicles were on the scene. The homeowner volunteered the property for the firefighter training. The department’s last training exercise burning down a house was in 2012.
