Georgia was born Oct. 1, 1955, in Wrangell to Nellie Torgramsen (Gunderson) and Donald Lewis. She was raised in Wrangell and graduated from Wrangell High School in 1973. She held a variety of jobs throughout her life, ranging from administrative, fishing industry and caregiving. She retired from the Wrangell Head Start program as the custodian in 2017.
“She was kind, caring and thoughtful, and she deeply loved her family and friends. Above all, her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved them endlessly, thought of them every day, and always put them first. Her warmth, generosity and love will be remembered by all who knew her,” her family wrote.
She is survived by her son, Kyle Lewis; grandchildren Akira, Akenna, Korbin and Katara Lewis; siblings Jane Bueing and Clint Lewis; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
