The Sentinel is running a Best of Halloween photo contest this month, inviting residents to send in their favorite Halloween-themed pictures for a chance to win gift cards at local businesses.

Entries can include photos of “costumes, faces, pumpkins, decorations, cookies and cakes — whatever you see through the camera lens.”

There is no entry fee and the photos will be posted to the Sentinel website so that people can vote for their favorite picture.

All submitted photos must be the original work of the entrant and must have been taken in Wrangell or the immediate vicinity.

Email photos to wrgsent@gmail.com, with name, phone and email address. The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Photos will be posted to the Sentinel website that evening.

The public can go to wrangellsentinel.com through Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 4, to pick their favorite. One vote per person.

Winners will be announced Nov. 5.

The top three vote-getters will each receive a $25 gift card to a Wrangell business.

For a full list of the rules, go to wrangellsentinel.com and click on the Photo Contest button on the right-hand side of the page.
