With Strait of Hormuz transit now a geopolitical roulette wheel, the case for domestic energy independence — solar, wind, geothermal, the works — has never been more compelling to investors and legislators alike. Nothing focuses the national mind on alternatives quite like $128-a-barrel crude oil and fear.
Credit where it’s due: Sometimes the right outcome arrives by the wrong philosophy. Whether by design or collision, this administration has made the green energy argument for us, louder than any climate summit ever managed.
