U.S. Senate candidate visits Wrangell
Vydell Baker (left) was among the few dozen people who visited at the Nolan Center with U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola who stopped in Wrangell on May 26 after visiting Petersburg during a Southeast tour. The Democratic challenger to incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan went on to Ketchikan, Metlakatla and Sitka after leaving Wrangell. While in town, Peltola, who represented Alaska in the U.S. House from 2022-2024, also toured Shakes Island and the WCA Carving Shed, where she took a turn at one of the logs being crafted into a totem.
