A 32-year-old woman was arrested last week and charged with multiple felony counts of sexual abuse of a minor stemming from an alleged incident following the Milk Run Music Festival in May.
Rebecca Mork, 32, was arrested June 13 and faces three counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the third degree, with the victims identified as between 13 and 15 years of age, according to a news release from the Wrangell Police Department.
Bond was set at $10,000. According to state court records, she had posted bond as of Monday, June 16. A public defender was appointed.
If convicted, Mork faces a maximum prison sentence of five years on each count.
The charges follow a report made May 4 by a parent of one of the teens.
According to the police report, Mork allegedly undressed and engaged in inappropriate contact with a juvenile after leaving a bar and attending an after-party following the close of the festival, which ran May 2 and 3.
The subsequent investigation determined that three youths were provided alcohol at the party. Mork allegedly performed lap dances while becoming undressed, according to the news release issued by Police Chief Gene Meek. The incident was reportedly recorded on a cell phone.
Authorities conducted a full investigation, police said, including multiple interviews with juveniles, parents and the defendant. Evidence was submitted to the state district attorney’s office for review, leading to an arrest warrant for Mork.
Additional charges may be pending further review by the district attorney’s office, police said.
