Anna Mae Baldwin, 76, of Wrangell, Alaska, a native of Pratt, Kansas, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at home.
Mrs. Baldwin was born in Pratt, Kansas April 8, 1935, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Miller) Rose. She married Daniel S. Baldwin on August 6, 1955.
Mrs. Baldwin retired from Wrangell Air Service as office manager. Later she ran a home daycare for many years. Anna Mae was also a missionary with Baptist Bible Fellowship. She was a member of Wrangell Bible Baptist Church for many years where she was an active faithful member.
Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ada Rae Barnes, brothers ,Carl and Harold Rose, and grandson Alex Metzing.
She is survived by her husband, Dan; daughters, Dana (Don) Van Slyke, Diana (Iver) Nore of Wrangell; Mary (Bill) Metzing of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; son, Daniel (Lisa) Baldwin Jr., of Wasilla,; brother, Donald Rose of Pratt, Kan.; three granddaughters; nine grandsons; sixteen great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wrangell Bible Baptist Church, PO Box 855, Wrangell, Alaska 99929. This is the church that the Baldwins helped establish in the early 1960s. Contributions may also be made to Wrangell Fire Department, PO Box 531, Wrangell, Alaska 99929, to those who so lovingly cared for Anna through their voluntary ambulance services on numerous occasions.
A Celebration of her life will be conducted at a later date at Bible Baptist Church and a reception will follow. The family will have a private graveside service at Sunset Gardens in Wrangell.
