Wrangell’s McKenna Harding takes the ball down court against the Lady Panthers on Friday night. Although scoring only a deuce for the Lady Wolves over the weekend, her strong defense was apparent Friday and Saturday night.

The Lady Wolves weekend outing fared no better than the boys’ efforts as they fell to the Lady Panthers 73-44 on Friday, Dec. 16.
Senior Loni Buness and junior MiKayla Stokes were both in double digits for the squad with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Erica Smith put up 6 points, with Alyssa Allen bringing in 5 points of her own. Shayna Schultz put a pair of deuces in for 4 points, with a solitary bucket for 2 points.
Faring only slightly better on Saturday night, the Lady Wolves fell 51-40 as the Lady Panthers held all the players except Buness to single digits.
Buness, who managed to avoid any personal fouls during the game, put up 16 points in the loss. Stokes followed once again with 9 points, while Smith added 7 points of her own. Allen’s bucket and four successful shots from the line gave 6 points, with Kayla adding 2 points of her own.
The Lady Wolves’ JV team dropped their games 48-31, 35-31 over the weekend.
