Heavy rains could not stop two die-hard young golfers from taking the top spots during a tournament at Wrangell’s Muskeg Meadows golf course last week.
Amos and Jonah Comstock competed for the longest and straightest drives on the practice range in two separate age groups on Thursday, June 7 – with the brothers winning in each group.
In the “closest-to-the-pin” type competition, Amos won both the 25- and 100-yard drives, with Jonah taking the 50- and 75-yard drives.
With the wins, Amos took home a 9-Hole round of golf as a grand prize, and Jonah took home a 4-Hole round of golf. Each of the brothers also has a free token certificate for each of their longest and straightest drives.
Shannon Booker, the co-manager of Muskeg Meadows said each of the young men were on top of their game – and demonstrated true sportsmanship.
“Amos was a great sport, and because he has a season pass from graduating the Wrangell High School Golf Club, he gave his 9-Hole certificate to his little brother so they can play golf together at a later time,” Booker said.
Muskeg Meadows next youth golf competition will be the Boy Scouts of America tournament on Aug. 29.
