The Wrangell Wolves Cross Country squad began its season Aug. 24 in Sitka with a top-15 finish for at least one member of the boys and girls teams, respectively.
Under awesome weather at Totem Park, Jacob Marshall finished the 5K run in 13th place with a time of 18:24.44, while Kayla Rooney nabbed the 15th place in her race with a time of 23:25.98.
Following the leaders, Asia Prus came in at the No. 20 spot with a time of 24:17.13, with Sasha Ashton, Andrea Gillen and Molly Prysunka coming in at Nos. 35-37, respectively. Hannah Armstrong finished with a time of 29:57.72.
In the boys’ competition, Gerald Bryce finished at 19:42.92, while Chester Armstrong completed the day with a final time of 20:13.18. Blaine Wilson ended the day strong with a 20:15.07 final.
The Wolves will next travel to Petersburg this weekend, Aug 31-Sept. 1.
