Fall Is In the Air
Frequently you hear the words, “fall is in the air”! Some look forward with anticipation to the crisp cold of fall with all the winter sports just around the corner. Others just dread it, feeling depressed just thinking of the long dreary nights ahead. It’s definitely a time of change, as earth’s life-cycle clock keeps ticking on, year after year. What sense do you make of it all? What’s life all about? Does it make sense to you?
King Solomon, the wisest man ever, summed life up this way, in his book Ecclesiastes. “The things that have happened will happen again and what has been done will be done again. There’s nothing new under the sun.” He then “studied all the things that are done in the world to find out what life is all about.” You could sum up his findings this way: Pleasure does not bring happiness; Wisdom is better then foolishness; Two people are better than one; Popularity doesn’t last; Money doesn’t bring happiness; Success never brings satisfaction; Everything has it’s time; Be diligent and grateful; God knows what is best.
He concluded, “After all is said and done, there is only one thing that really matters; Reverence your heavenly Father and do what He says. That’s the only thing that has meaning and lasts… He loves you and has told you all you need to know.” Your future rests in His hands.
If you allow Him control in your life you will find a meaning and happiness that nothing else can give.
