The Wrangell High School Drama, Debate and Forensics team participated in a meet at Thunder Mountain High School in Juneau last weekend. The meet also included Ketchikan, Sitka, Mt. Edgecumbe, Juneau Douglas and Thunder Mountain.
According to WHS teacher Michelle Galla, the participants did exceptionally well.
“Molly Prysunka, Malachi Cole, Victoria Ingram, Courtney Haggard, Haley Reed and Ben Florschutz all made it into finals with their dramatic and forensics pieces, with Florschutz taking 4th place overall in Extemporaneous Speaking,” she said.
Reed also took 3rd in Extemporaneous Commentary, and WHS Reader’s Theater, “Thursday” received the meet’s Command Performance and also took 3rd place overall.
From dozens of debate teams around the region, Matthew Covalt took 9th place in Speaker Points and Tyler Eagle took 8th place in Speaker Points.
The Wolves’ next meet will be Oct. 26-27 in Sitka.
