NextMD web portal now available through AICS

Alaska Island Community Services unveiled their new “NextMD Patient Portal” program at the Wrangell Health Fair on Saturday, April 6 at the James and Elsie Nolan Center.

The application, which is a web-based method of communicating with your physician or other medical staff is now online and provides a way to request, book or cancel appointments, receive and review your medical documents, request medication renewals, send messages to health care staff, and update personal medical information.

The system, while online, is secure – and allows patients to accomplish connecting with their healthcare providers from home or smart devices like an iPhone or Android platform.

Terry Wagner, an employee at AICS and booth worker during the Health Fair, said the portal would mirror the level of service

“The patient portal will allow access for the community to their medical information,” she said. It will give people the ability to request appointments, request refills on medications, and it’s the same process as if you’d called into the Tideline Clinic. After you use the site, we respond back to the patient.”

Patients wanting more information on using the portal, which is located online at https://www.nextmd.com, can sign up at the Tideline Clinic, or call AICS at 874-2373.
