What background or experience do you have that qualifies you to be on the Wrangell School Board?

I believe that education is the key to success. I am a college graduate and fully support the goal of ensuring that our students excel to their potential. I am currently the Executive Director of the Chamber Board of Directors, and understand the importance of conducting productive meetings. My business experience and leadership skills will allow me to make many valuable contributions.

Why are you running for the board? I worked for the school district previously and I have first-hand knowledge of the day-to-day operations. I have three children currently attending school in the district. I want to take a pro-active approach in helping to enhance the learning experience for our students.

How would you work to keep the public schools in Wrangell operating at the high educational level they are recognized for?

I would like to see a continued emphasis on continuing education and professional development. A highly qualified staff will inspire our students to be highly educated and productive citizens.

What do you see as the most pressing issue currently before the Wrangell School Board?

The budget. I hope to learn about the challenges and help evaluate and guide in practical decision making.
