The Season of Great Differences

The focus of Christmas these days seems to be the debates…whether it’s Christmas or Holidays, if X takes Christ out of Christmas, if we spend this much or that much, and what if they bring this or make that, how am I going to beat that, to travel or not, or how many parties do I go to, and…I hope I get what I want or my Christmas will be ruined. None of this even starts to include what we are bombarded with once we turn on the TV or get online.

In the midst of ALL the Christmas of society, Christmas is getting lost. Christmas of Hope, Christmas of Love, Christmas of Peace, Christmas of Joy, Christmas of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus.

Here are some directions that will help us all take small steps to get back to or closer to the “reason for the season”; take and keep out our bibles, read the story of the birth of our Lord and the prophesies of this birth from the bible (it does show up a couple of times in the bible) smile and complement those who are working hard to help us; help others-donate your time, give gifts and don’t tell ANYONE you did it; focus more on the simple joys of Christmas-don’t over book, overspend, overwork, over-celebrate; remember those for whom this time of year is a painful time.

Pray for all to remember that one little baby who came so many years ago and changed the world for all of US.

The Peace of Christ be to all who read this.
