Arrington sentenced for part in drug trade

Superior Court Judge Kevin Miller sentenced Paul L. Arrington, 65, of Wrangell, to four months of prison for his part in local drug dealing operations, sentencing documents show.

Arrington pled guilty Jan. 28 to one count of delivery of a controlled substance greater than one ounce, a class C felony. The plea was part of a plea agreement reached with the District Attorney’s office, according to sentencing documents.

Court officials dismissed six additional accounts: one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance, one count of using a building or vehicle to deliver a controlled substance, one count of delivering a controlled substance and two counts of misconduct with weapons.

At that time, authorities estimated the amount of marijuana seized to be greater than 10 ounces.

Arrington was also ordered to pay a $100 police surcharge fee and a $100 jail surcharge, and to register his DNA and fingerprints with the state, according to sentencing documents.

Arrington will also forfeit the Fishing Vessel Wave Ryder and all equipment, as well as controlled substances, paraphernalia, cash and firearms, according to sentencing documents.

Arrington will be credited with time served, charging documents show.
