Joel P. Franks, 49, appeared before First District Judge Kevin Miller on charges of Driving Under the Influence in Watercraft, a Class A misdemeanor. The defendant entered a guilty plea. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail with 95 suspended, ordered to pay $4000 in fines with $1000 suspended and $225 in fines with $100 suspended, and must complete treatment recommended by an alcohol safety action program and pay costs. The fines must be paid by Jan. 1, 2017, and Franks will be placed on probation until Jan. 26, 2017.

Kelly R. Crowder Sr., 50, appeared before First District Judge Kevin Miller on charges of Criminal Tresspass 2, a Class B misdemeanor. A charge of violating condition of release was dismissed by the prosecution. The defendant entered a guilty plea. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 70 days suspended, to be served at Lemon Creek Correctional Facility with credit for time spent. Crowder has also been ordered to pay $750 in fines, to be paid from posted bail, and $200 in surcharges with $100 suspended. He must also complete treatment recommended by an alcohol safety action program and pay costs, and is placed on probation until Jan. 26, 2018.
