Obituary: John Eilert Eilertsen, 62

John Eilert Eilertsen, 62, died March 27, 2015, in Wrangell, Alaska.

He was born the second child of Arne and Blodwen (Olson) Eilertsen on December 27, 1952, in Salem, Ore.

He married Jacqueline Paull on August 29, 1970, in The Dalles, Ore.

A tug boat captain for about 30 years, John loved the water and boats. He was also a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his wife Jacqueline; his two sons, Eilert Eilertsen and James (April) Eilertsen of Wrangell; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) of Sitka; mother, Blodwen Eilertsen; sister, Ronda (Denny) Evans; brothers, Steve (Terri) Eilertsen of Trout Creek, Mont., and David (Liz) Eilertsen of Anchorage; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Arne Eilertsen.

Memorial Services will be held for John on Sunday, April 12 at 3:30 p.m. at Harbor Light Assembly of God Church.
