63rd Annual King Salmon Derby winner Chad Smith holds up his trophy at the awards presentation June 11. The 42.7 pound king he caught near Hamm Island reaped big rewards, earning both the $6,000 first prize and the $2,500 Memorial Day bonus.
Youth bracket winner Kendra Meissner is presented her prize bicycle by Aleisha Mollen of Wells Fargo Bank. In addition to the bonus wheels, the 10-year-old won $250 for the 31.7 pound king she caught.
Maria Jordison of Ria Designs presents a sterling silver salmon bracelet to JerriDee Harvey, whose 39.2-pound king salmon was the largest submitted by a woman this year. Thirteen of the top 50 entrants in this year's derby were women.
