Tuesday, June 9

Benjamin T. Sims, 19, appeared before First District Magistrate Judge Chris Ellis on the charge of Minor Consuming/Possessing Alcohol. The defendant pleaded no contest and was found guilty. Sims was sentenced to pay $500 in fines with $300 suspended, and to complete treatment recommended by an Alcohol Safety Action Program and pay costs. He is to remain on probation until June 9, 2016.

Monday, June 22

Corey W. Torgramsen, 49, appeared before First District Magistrate Judge Chris Miller on the charge of Alcohol Restricted – In Licensed Areas, a Class A misdemeanor. The defendant pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve 60 days with credit for time spent. Probation for Torgramsen was also revoked, and he was ordered to serve another 60 days consecutively with the previous sentence. Torgramsen was also ordered to pay $200 in fines and surcharges, and to

pay $34.26 to the City and Borough of Wrangell as restitution.

Larry W. Aitken, 43, appeared before First District Judge Kevin Miller on the charge of Violation of Condition of Release, a Class A misdemeanor. The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge, and was committed to the custody of the Commissioner of Corrections to serve 10 days flat, and pay $100 in

surcharges. Probation was ordered revoked and

reimposed, with a condition added that Aitken submit

to daily breathalyzer testing at the Wrangell Police Department for four months after release.
