United Way accepting impact grant applications

United Way of Southeast Alaska is currently accepting applications for its 2015/16 Community Impact Grant program. Up to $30,000 in funds will be awarded to applicants who successfully demonstrate community needs pertaining to health, education, or income stability.

The criteria used in past years will guide the competitive selection process, such as collaboration, matching funds and having a clearly-stated, focused and achievable goal with measurable outcomes. Each award distributed carries an amount of up to $3,500, and can be used for materials, salaries, or outreach, but not overhead costs such as rent or utilities.

Applications can be filled out online, and are found at United Way's website, http://www.unitedwayseak.org. The non-profit organization prefers applications be submitted electronically by July 31, to resource development director Sara Truitt at staff@unitedwayseak.org.

Applications can also be submitted by mail or in person, at 3225 Hospital Drive #201, Juneau, Alaska, 99801. Questions can be answered by calling 463-5530.
