Laven T. Ritchie, 18, appeared before First District Court Magistrate Judge Christine Ellis on charges of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drug and Alcohol and Minor in Possession/Consumption-Habitual, Class A and B misdemeanors, respectively. The defendant pleaded guilty, and as part of his agreement was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail with 87 days suspended. Ritchie was also ordered to pay $2,000 in fines with $500 suspended, $275 in surcharges with $100 suspended, and to complete 96 hours of community service. He was also sentenced to pay for and complete screening, evaluation and treatment in an Alcohol Safety Action Program. Ritchie’s license was revoked for 21 months, and he will have to use an ignition interlock device for six months once driving privileges are regained. He was placed on probation until May 19, 2018.
David P. Churchill, 18, appeared before First District Court Magistrate Judge Christine Ellis on three separate counts of Repeat Minor Consuming/Possessing Alcohol, considered non-criminal offenses. The defendant pleaded no contest to the charges and was ordered to pay $3,000 in fines ,with $1,500 suspended, and $30 in surcharges as well as to complete 144 hours of community service. He was also sentenced to pay for and complete screening, evaluation and treatment in an Alcohol Safety Action Program. Churchill’s driver’s license was surrendered to the court, with privileges revoked for 27 months with 18 months suspended. He was placed on probation for one year.
Ruben L. Delgado-Fields, 16, appeared before First District Court Magistrate Judge Chris Ellis for one charge of Under-21 Possession or Consumption of Alcohol, a first offense. The defendant pleaded no contest to the charge and was found guilty. Delgado-Fields was given a suspended imposition of sentence, and was ordered to contact Ketchikan Youth Court and complete its directions. He was also placed on probation for one year.

Breanna E. Miethe, 23, appeared before First District Court Magistrate Judge Christine Ellis on the charge of possessing undersized Dungeness crab, a violation. She pleaded guilty and was fined $500, with $500 suspended, and ordered to pay a $10 police training surcharge. Miethe will be placed on probation for one year.
Graham D. Gablehouse, 32, appeared before First District Court Magistrate Judge Christine Ellis on a charge of possessing undersized Dungeness crab, a violation. He pleaded guilty and was fined $500, with $500 suspended, and ordered to pay a $10 police training surcharge. Gablehouse was placed on probation for one day.
