Obituary, Edward "Ned" S. Ousley, 54

Edward "Ned" S. Ousley passed away on Aug. 17, 2015. Ned was born to Mary Ann and Paul Ousley on Nov. 25, 1960, in Portland, Ore.

In 1969, he moved to Florida, graduating from Deland High School in 1979 and later receiving an aircraft mechanic certification from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

His first job was with Pratt & Whitney building jet engines. He later worked for Alaska Airlines as an aircraft mechanic.

During this time he met the love of his life, Christi, whom he married in 1991. After living in Washington for six years, Ned moved with his family to Florida where they spent 11 years.

When Christi fell ill with terminal cancer, Ned devoted his energy to her care while also running a computer repair business. After Christi passed, he and his children spent four years in Alaska before returning to Florida.

He was a loving husband and caring father. Even in hard times he had a sense of humor that was contagious to those around him. He enjoyed fixing things, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a godly man who valued honesty above all else.

Ned is preceded in death by his wife, Christi Ousley, and his father, Paul Ousley.

He is survived by his son, Benjamin Ousley; three daughters, Kayla Luna Ousley, Allison Ousley, and Jessica Ousley; three sisters, Diana Dean, Louise Ousley, and Cindy Snyder; mother, Mary Ann Ousley; step-mother, Fran Ousley; and five step-brothers, Dick, Steve, Edward, David, and Peter Helgeson.

A funeral Service was held on Aug. 21 at Riverbend Community Church in Ormond Beach, Fla.
