Carolers with Wrangell High School's music program keep things jolly during Midnight Madness on Dec. 4. The annual holiday kick-off also featured free treats, special offers, and a visit from Santa Claus at the WCA Cultural Center.

Massage therapist Susan Allen plies her wares at the Stikine Inn during Midnight Madness. Shops around town kept later hours during the event, and the evening featured a pair of bazaars for local artists and crafters to sell a variety of seasonal goods.

Jerry Knapp and Bill Churchill head up the line at Wrangell Cooperative Association's Christmas party in the SNO Building on Dec. 5. Coco Massin did much of the cooking, preparing turkeys, ham and plenty of fixings provided by the Tribe and local ANB/ANS camps. Leslie Cummings at Grand View Bed and Breakfast allowed the group to use her kitchen for the party.

Apryl Hutchinson with the Chamber of Commerce prepares to hand out some marshmallowed sticks for toasting during Midnight Madness on Dec. 4. Festive burn barrels were put out by the city to make Front Street a little more inviting after the tree lighting. Residents were able to catch up over cocoa and listen to carols in relative comfort during the annual event, which officially kicks off the Christmas season.

Anne Morrison entertains the audience with "The Holiday Dinner," the Wrangell Community Chorale during its Christmas concert Sunday. Eliciting quite a bit of laughter, her song parodied complicated dinner arrangements to the tune of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."
