Let's take a trip!

Wow, how things and times have changed!! Technology (which means what you just bought needs to be updated or replaced), what is considered safe, what is ‘acceptable’ or ‘politically correct’, or even travel on and off our small island, it’s all changed!! “I remember when…” seems to be a daily recognition, good and bad, that we share constantly. Yet, while some (dare I say most) things change, it seems there are a few concrete, foundational, truths that remain unchanged.

Through all of the years of translating the original manuscripts and the various translations of the bible, (which at this very moment I have eight translations at my fingertips with the click of my bluetooth computer mouse), the meaning of the newborn child “Immanuel”, has remained the same, “God with us.”

King Herod and all of Jerusalem are described as “disturbed” at the news of a newborn king, “God with us.” And yet they never discovered “God with us”, though only miles away. They never made the trip!

While sometimes we may fail to “see” exactly where He is, and how He is working, GOD IS WITH US. We only need to take the time to look for Him. No expensive tickets, air miles, special PFD sales, or even winter ferry rates are needed to discover the hope, joy, love, and peace that “God with us” can provide. For those despising traveling, you need not venture out of your home, simply ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

Will YOU take a trip this year?
