J.J. Einert, April Einert (in back) and Brenda Schwartz-Yeager tough it out offshore of the Shoemaker Bay park during this year's annual Polar Plunge. A New Year's tradition, around 40 people participated in the frigid dousing, which requires bodies to remain submerged for a full minute. Local roller derby team, the Garnet Grit Betties, hosted the plunge for the second year running and raised close to $800 for themselves with a 50/50 raffle.
