Wrangell's American Legion Merlin Elmer Post 6 inducted its oldest and youngest members on Feb. 6. Above, Ted Haux, age 97, fills out his paperwork at the Stikine Inn. He had joined the Army Air Corps in 1941 at the age of 22, but shortly after completing basic training Haux was medically discharged in 1943.
24-year-old Kristen Gronlund is inducted into the Legion. After graduating high school she joined the Navy in 2009 as an intelligence specialist. She ended her enlistment in 2015, after serving in Bahrain.
