Israel M. Comstock, 21, appeared
before First District Judge Kevin Miller on the misdemeanor charges of Reckless Driving, Immediate Notice of Accident
Required, and Violate Condition of Release. The defendant pleaded guilty to the charges, and was ordered to serve 730 days with 472
suspended, with credit for 90 days of residential treatment and time served. Charges of Vehicle Theft 1 and Driving Without a Valid License were dropped as part of the plea
agreement. Comstock was also ordered to pay $200 in fines and surcharges with $100
suspended, and his license is revoked
for 30 days. He was placed on probation for two years, while a Petition to Revoke Probation for a previous conviction was approved by
Judge Miller. Additional conditions were ordered, including serving 30 days’ suspended sentence, paying $100 jail surcharge, and
following all aftercare recommendations from the Jake’s Place treatment program. The term of probation was extended by 353 days.
Tuesday, May 31
Justin D. Herr Barker, 30, appeared
before First District Magistrate Judge Chris
Ellis on charges of Criminal Trespass 2 and Attempted Theft 3 - $250-$749. The
defendant pleaded guilty to the charges and was ordered to serve 90 days with 80 suspended, with
credit for time in residential treatment and time spent. 90 days with 60 days were also ordered, with the unsuspended 30 days to be served
consecutive to the other sentence, up to
28 days. He was fined $3,000 with
$3,000 suspended, and ordered to pay
$250 in surcharges with $100 suspended. Two charges of Criminal Trespass 2 and one of Theft 4 were dismissed, and the defendant is placed on probation for three years.
