Dan Rudy/ Wrangell Sentinel count
M/V Columbia departs from Wrangell on Monday, after some emergency repairs to its starboard engine last week. The vessel encountered trouble in Petersburg on July 21, causing it to be laid up for repairs. It resumed service about 36 hours behind schedule, and is set to return to Wrangell on its southbound leg this morning. Once it reaches Ketchikan, the vessel will enter dry dock to address an oil leak on its portside propeller shaft, discovered during the engine repair. Columbia will remain out of service until Aug. 3, when it will resume its posted schedule.
