Cathy A. Angerman, 63, appeared before Judicial Officer Chris Ellis on the charge of Driving Under the Influence – Operating Vehicle Under Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, a Class A misdemeanor. The defendant pleaded no contest, and was found guilty of the offense. Angerman was ordered to serve 30 days with 27 suspended, pays fines and surcharges of $2,055, with $100 suspended, and complete evaluation and treatment. Her drivers license has also been revoked for 90 days, and installation of an Ignition Interlock Device ordered once privileges are returned, for six months.

Judgment was reached in State of Alaska vs. Atlantic Capes Fisheries Inc. The defendant pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of Reports: Required of Fishermen Processors, Buyers, Exporters and Operators. Magistrate Judge Chris Ellis ordered payment of $10,000 in fines with $7,000 suspended, and surcharges of $150 with $100 suspended.
August 17
Eric Stuart Bezenek, 27, appeared before First District Magistrate Judge Chris Ellis on the charge of Commercial Fishing in Closed Season Anita Bay Terminal Harvest Area, reduced from a misdemeanor to a strict liability violation. The defendant pleaded no contest to the charge and was found guilty. Bezenek was ordered to pay $3,000 with $1,500 suspended, and a $10 police training surcharge. He is placed on probation for one year.
