What feels like dinner theater, sounds like a house concert, and looks like improv comedy? The answer will be performing at the Nolan Center tomorrow evening, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. Parlor in the Round is a mixture of concert and comedy, according to Nolan Center Director Cyni Crary. The show has live music, skits, and audience participation that comes together for a fun evening
"They are working on songs, so they will share some of their lyrics with the other artists and perform each other's music," Crary said. "Then there's audience participation as far as ... in shows that they've done before they have a sticky note on the table and he picks one of the sticky notes and then they do some sort of improv on that."
According to their website, Parlor in the Round consists of Host Kevin Worrell, Front of House Producer Jamie Whiteman, Photographer Charles Earnshaw, and Amanda Moser on the PITR Song Board. During the Wrangell Show, Parlor in the Round will also feature artists Kat Moore and Chris Pureka.
Local resident Brooke Leslie will also be featured in the show. Leslie said that Parlor in the Round likes to feature local artists in their shows wherever they perform. Leslie will be playing piano, she said.
"I think it's going to be a lot of fun," Crary said. "Very different and new for Wrangell. I'm trying to bring more of these kinds of things to Wrangell that offer a variety of choices of things to do."
