Becca Clark / Wrangell Sentinel count
More than a dozen people helped move a giant log into the WCA Cultural Center on July 11. The log will be carved into a totem pole over the next few months to replicate one on Shakes Island as part of a Wrangell Cooperative Association project to carve new poles and repair others - and help teach local carvers. Funding is from a federal grant to the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.
