Dale Eugene "Gene" Meek, Wrangell's new chief of police, spoke with community members at "Coffee with the Chief" at the Stikine Inn on Saturday. Meek took the opportunity to meet, talk and listen ahead of his first day of work on Monday. The new chief came to Wrangell from Soldotna, where he had been police chief for two years. He replaces Tom Radke, who retired in April.
