Haaland was in Sitka for the day, visiting several sites and touring the park. It was Haaland's fourth visit to Alaska. She also stopped in Juneau and met with the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Tribes of Alaska and toured the Sealaska Heritage Institute.
