Wrangell’s only home cross-country meet of the season, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 31, was canceled the night before due to forecasts for heavy rain.
Earlier on Friday, a tentative plan to run a boys 5K and a girls 5K at the same time as cross country was put in place, but eventually it was decided that even this would have been untenable in the weather.
Head Coach Mason Villarma hopes to reschedule the cross-country meet later this season.
The cross-country team will race next at the Craig Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7.
