Tommy Rooney (far left) leads a crowd with drumming at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Day parade on Feb. 16. Hosted by Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp No. 1 and Alaska Native Brotherhood Camp No. 4, the parade went down Front Street, with a potluck afterward at the American Legion Hall. The day recognizes the late Native civil rights leader, whose speech before the territorial Legislature on Feb. 16, 1945, led to passage of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945.
