In 1963, Christine welcomed her daughter, Carla. The following year, she married the love of her life, Ben Jackson, and they would go on to have three sons: Ben Jr. (1965), Jeff (1966) and Rodney (1968), all born in Kake.
In 1969, the family moved to Wrangell, where Ben worked at the sawmill and Christine became a health aide teacher at the Bureau of Indian Affairs Wrangell Institute. In 1975, the family returned to Kake and Christine worked as a cook for the school district until 1979.
In 1980, the family relocated to Juneau. Later in the 1980s, Christine worked at Frontier Suites for several years before later choosing to stay home and focus on raising her children.
Christine and Ben moved to Auburn, Washington, in 2017 for medical reasons, but would return to Wrangell in 2023 so that Ben could teach the Tlingit language.
Christine was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness and unwavering love for her family.
She was proceeded in death by her son, Ben Jackson Jr., and grandson Anthony Lance Jackson.
Christine is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ben Jackson; children Carla, Jeff and Rodney; grandchildren Byron III, Mahlia, Mackenzie and Mya; sister Ruth Demmert of Kake; brother Richard Thomas of Sitka; and many nieces and nephews.
