Registered voters can cast their ballots in the Nov. 3 statewide election starting this week at City Hall.
The Wrangell early voting station is one of more than 100 available across Alaska the next two weeks.
In-person voting is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in assembly chambers at City Hall. The early voting booth will close at 4 p.m. Nov. 2.
Voting on election day will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Nolan Center.
Voters will decide the races for governor and lieutenant governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. House, and state senators and representatives.
The ballot also includes two citizens initiative questions: One that would repeal the state’s open-primaries and ranked-choice voting system, and another ballot measure that would restate that only U.S. citizens may vote in Alaska elections.
Whether casting their ballots early or on election day, voters are advised to bring a photo ID if they are new to town and the election workers may not recognize them.
And people coming to a polling place are reminded that state law prohibits any campaign material or active campaigning within 200 feet of a polling station — that includes hats, buttons and T-shirts.
