4th of July 9-Hole, Best-Ball Golf Tournament: 10 am

Muskeg Meadows

Register by 9:30 a.m. All skill levels welcome. Multiple prizes. Call 907-874-GOLF if running late. Entry fee $30. Multiple prizes, including roundtrip ticket on Alaska Airlines for closest to the pin and straightest drive for the weekend. Door prize drawing for a roundtrip ticket on Alaska. Snacks, beverages and hot lunch available for purchase.

Art Clark Scrap Fish Derby: 10 a.m.

Two age categories: 6-9 and 10-13 (6-year-olds participating in Tiny Tot Derby are ineligible)

Only volunteers on float. Everyone must wear life jacket at all times. Hand lines only. Must bait own hook (all bait allowed). Derby officials' decisions will be final.

Tiny Tots Scrap Fish Derby: 11 a.m.

Age: Infant to 6 years

Two preliminary fireworks will be shot to signal that the main display will begin approximately 10 minutes later.

Independence Day Fun Run/Walk/Bike: 7:30 a.m.

Register at 7 a.m. at the entrance to the pool; race will go the airport. No entry fee.

Fourth of July Parade: 11 a.m.

Downtown

Theme: Small Town, Big Heart

National Anthem 11 a.m. in front of Wells Fargo. Participants line up by the Nolan Center. Entrants after 10 a.m. will not be judged but may participate. Float categories: businesses and organizations, families and reunions, churches. Other categories are adult costume, kids costume, horses and pets, four-wheelers, bikes and trikes and wagons, cars and trucks, motorcycles, marching units. Cash awards for first, second and third place in each category.
